Silver. Chrome. Gradients everywhere. The future was glossy buttons, aqua interfaces, and brushed metal textures. Web 2.0 brought rounded corners and reflection effects to every surface.

iOS 7 killed skeuomorphism. Flat design swept the web—solid colors, no shadows, no textures. Material Design added subtle depth back. The palette became muted, professional, corporate.

Everything went dark. True black backgrounds, OLED optimization, and subtle gold accents. Glassmorphism and neomorphism briefly appeared, then faded. The palette became contemplative—muted pastels on deep blacks.
